Images in one form or another form the basis for all machine vision applications.
Image collection can be done in many ways, each with its own benefits. Images must be collected that have adequate data so that the inspection you need can be effectively completed. Here are some examples but talk to Indyn about the technology best suited to your project.

There are three basic components to image collection:

Camera

The choice of camera is usually guided by the nature of the inspection required. There is a wide variety of cameras available, each with its own characteristics in terms of image capture and data collection and transmission.

Lens

It is crucial that the lens has adequate resolving power to provide an image suitable for the analysis required.

Matching the camera and lens system requires careful consideration if the design requirements are to be achieved

Lighting

Lighting is quite often overlooked in vision system design, but correct illumination is crucial in all vision systems. Most modern systems use high power LED light sources.

However some applications benefit from special lighting effects such as structured light patterns, laser generators and various types of focusing or diffusion.
